Audrey Benitez is from Miami, FL and attended South Miami High School as part of their Music Magnet program. She participated in her school’s marching band, jazz band, and wind ensemble all four years. At just 15 years old, Audrey was contracted to be a member of the Boston Crusaders, where she went on to march one season on trumpet and two seasons on mellophone. Audrey attended Florida International University (FIU) where she played mellophone for the college’s marching band and basketball band for three seasons. Audrey is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, an international women’s music fraternity. Audrey also performed in FIU Indoor Winds with one season on trumpet and one season on mellophone. As an instructor, she has teched music and marching for high school marching programs in Miami including Miami Sunset HS, South Miami HS, South Dade HS, and Coral Gables HS. She was also the Music Caption Head for the March of Dimes Pep Band for two seasons, one season overseeing 120 members and the following season overseeing 150 members. Audrey just moved to the Bradenton, FL area in the summer of 2017. She is a guidance counselor at Sarasota Military Academy Prep Middle School and currently plays trumpet in two concert bands, the Manatee Concert Band and the Sarasota Concert Band.
