Chuck Alfrey

Chuck Alfrey has been a music educator since 1988. His is currently in his third year as Director of Bands at Sarasota High School in Sarasota, FL. He has also been the Director of Bands at various schools in Indiana and Florida.  His groups have won multiple State Championships in winter percussion and winter guard as well as being WGI Finalist and Semi-Finalist.  Marching bands under Chuck’s direction have consistently advanced to Circuit Championship finals.  He has also been a drill designer, music arranger, consultant, and adjudicator for the past 28 years.

As a performer Chuck has played with such jazz greats as James Moody, Conte Candoli, Bill Watrous, Ray Brown and John Faddis.  He lists John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins and Michael Brecker as his major influences as a tenor sax player. Chuck enjoys playing golf, running, and participating in trialthlons. Completing full Ironman competitions in Louisville and Chattanooga are listed as highlights of his triatlon career.
