Steven Johnson

Steven Johnson, originally from Boynton Beach, Florida, is a tubist and educator now living in Titusville, FL where he currently serves as the Band & Orchestra Director of Rockledge High School in Brevard County. He is responsible for overseeing three concert bands, three string orchestras, the Raider Regiment marching band, Symphonic Orchestra, and Jazz Band.

Steven brings a mix of performance and educational experience. As a performer, Steven plays with Reclaim Brass Band, a New Orleans style group that plays a wide variety of R&B, Neo-Soul, Hip Hop, and Second Line music. Steven also performs with Central Florida Winds and is on call as a substitute tubist with other local ensembles.

Steven graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Music Education, where he studied with Prof. James Jenkins (tubist, Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra). Active professional memberships include the National Association for Music Education, Florida Music Education Association, Florida Bandmasters Association, Florida Orchestra Association, and the International Tuba Euphonium Association. He is happily married to his wife, Mary, who is way out of his league, and enjoys outside interests in motorsports, aviation, fishing, technology, and more.
